MacArtney's new deep sea penetrators make underwater work more reliable at even greater depths

penetrator OptoLink

MacArtney's new Dual Way Water Block provides penetrator integrity at full ocean depth.

MacArtney A/S has designed and produced a new generation of deep sea penetrator, the Dual Way Water Block, specifically designed to withstand the challenges of system infrastructure at depths of up to 6000 metres.

The only penetrator tested specifically for 6000 metres

Pressures of up to 600 bar in the deep water areas of the oceans can be a challenge. Water ingress can have catastrophic consequences for valuable underwater equipment and any down time in operations can be costly. A reliable infrastructure of connectors and cables is a must.

MacArtney has designed a new type of ultra reliable penetrator. The Dual Way Water Block is completely blocked on both sides, so even if the system cable is damaged, water will not enter the system box. Its unique depth rating also means that integrity is certified for almost the entire world's ocean floors.

Unique design for ultra reliability and flexibility
MacArtney's new design is extremely versatile. It is available with 3 types of housing; standard 5/8" thread, FCR (flange connector receptacle) or with a custom made housing. They are interchangeable and can be replaced should customer requirement change over time.

Standard parts ensure reasonable pricing and short lead time
The new Dual Way Water Block is designed to use standard parts, ensuring tried and tested quality and reasonable pricing. They can also be manufactured at three MacArtney production sites for fast delivery time.

Already proving popular
The first orders for the new Dual Way Water Block have already been received. Their unique and versatile design makes them ideal for ROV, ROTV and UUV systems, fibre optic video and data multiplexers, cable ploughs, acoustic ranges, fibre optic riser fatigue systems and other general underwater communication applications as a cost-efficient alternative to fibre optic connectors.
