MacArtney set to launch new NEXUS MK VII multiplexer at Ocean Business 2015
In keeping with company tradition, the MacArtney Group will be making good use of the Ocean Business exhibition to premiere and showcase the latest feats of innovation and system development within the realm of underwater technology.
At this year’s event, MacArtney is delighted to launch the brand new NEXUS MK VII multiplexer, while other recent MacArtney developments, such as the LUXUS wide angle LED, will also be on display. Moreover, stand visitors will have the chance learn about the MacArtney range of advanced hydrostatic pressure testing vessels and examine a 3D scale model MERMAC foldable A-Frame representing the company’s new series of cutting-edge LARS solutions.
NEXUS MK VII: The future-proof telemetry choice
The star of the show on stand B1 will be theMacArtney NEXUS MK VII - a highly versatile HD and standard video, Ethernet, serial and multibeam sonar multiplexer based on Moog Focal 907 telemetric technology.
The NEXUS MK VII represents the most advanced MacArtney telemetry system to date. Power switching is software controlled via PC software or using a tablet which is online via LAN or WiFi. Sensor power status, telemetry link, leak alarm etc. is also continuously monitored by the software. Advanced features include programmable fuses and software enabled interface selection. Moreover, the NEXUS MK VII carries all signals over one single mode optical fibre via coarse wavelength division multiplexing, hereby providing a highly efficient link between surface and seabed.
The NEXUS MK VII is highly configurable and allows for an easy upgrade and modification path when operational or applicational requirements change. Multiplexer options can be installed between jobs or even at sea without the need for an electronics workshop. Typical applications for the NEXUS MK VII will include ROV/ROTV systems requiring a HD video and multibeam sonar survey sensor setup, cable trencher systems, towed camera and sensor systems and seabed monitoring applications including landers and observatory systems.
