NEWS | Hydraulic LARS-system for Jan De Nul’s Shallow Water Trencher Vessel, Henry Darcy

Henry Darcy

We’re pleased to share that MacArtney Offshore Solutions will deliver a 25-tonne hydraulic A-frame and a 15-tonne hydraulic winch to Jan De Nul’s Vessel, Henry Darcy.

The solution is engineered for safe and controlled launch and recovery over the stern of a Shallow Water Trencher, hoisted by steel wire with precise hydraulic control.

Collaboration

Technical relevance, precision, and competitiveness were key criteria in Jan De Nul’s supplier selection. We value the close collaboration and dedication that have characterised previous projects together. Over the years, deliveries have included a fully electric eLARS system, tensioners from 5 to 50 tonnes, wheel haulers, and now this hydraulic A-frame with a dedicated 15-tonne winch.

We have selected MacArtney Offshore Solutions A/S based on the combination of commercial competitiveness and technical relevance and accuracy, Maarten Van Den Bossche, Project Manager Vessel Construction, Jan De Nul.

Key specifications

Hydraulic 25-tonne A-frame

  • Top beam: scissor frame mounted on the top beam

About the vessel

Henry Darcy is a Water Injection Dredger, well-suited to maintenance work in smaller harbours and shallow‑water.

The vessel is currently undergoing comprehensive refurbishment, with all equipment scheduled to be ready for commissioning in Q4. MacArtney Offshore Solutions' delivery is aligned with the yard program to ensure efficient installation and testing ahead of the vessel’s return to operations.

We experienced a proactive approach and straightforward communication, and deadlines mutually agreed upon have been respected. We hope to be able to continue the collaboration in the same reliable manner, Maarten Van Den Bossche, Jan De Nul.
