MacArtney Denmark seeks: Shipping supervisor

We are looking for a candidate who has good experience working within the shipping forwarding industry for a position in an exciting and international business, where you get the opportunity to challenge the current setup. You will ensure that we deliver our orders on time and with the correct documentation; furthermore, you will support the simplification and standardisation of processes in a bid to enhance effectiveness.

You will be part of a Shipping/Store team comprising 8 very competent colleagues. The working environment is busy and informal, characterised by the delivery of products and solutions at a high technical level for customers worldwide. You will report to our Distribution Manager.

Your overall responsibilities will be ensuring that we, at all times, comply with the requested delivery dates on our shipments and ensure correct documentation for both export and import. Furthermore, you will provide correct settlement to our subsidiaries and customers according to Incoterms. You will contribute to strengthening the already excellent cooperation with our warehouse.

You have the skills and drive to find new opportunities for savings on freight, you are ready to challenge our ERP processes, and you can contribute to optimising our departments' workflow.

 Areas of responsibility will also include:

  • Participating in Intrastat reporting
  • Ensuring correct settlement with carriers
  • Planning and handling of the daily shipment inbound/outbound
  • Export control and invoicing
  • Preparation of necessary documentation for countries within and outside EU, for 3rd countries such as ATR, EUR 1 etc.
  • Follow-up on transport suppliers and creation of NCR's
  • Follow-up on shipments from suppliers and invoices from suppliers
  • Calculation of volume of freight, benefit calculation, insurance, etc.
  • Ensuring good collaboration with warehousing, procurement, sales and other departments at MacArtney

You have a background profile that includes:

  • 5 years of experience from the forwarding business or an export company 
  • Experience with handling shipments on all kinds of transport and Incoterms
  • Well-founded in export rules and regulations (invoice declaration, REX, free trade agreements and cross trade)
  • Experience working with Excel and Navision would be an advantage
  • Strong IT skills and experience with Office 365 would be an advantage
  • Strong administrative skills 
  • Danish and English at a high level, both written and spoken
