We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer for our Underwater Technology division located in Esbjerg. You will join a relatively small team of experienced MacArtney engineers in a newly formed department in the build-up phase, so you will be able to impact the future of MacArtney underwater engineering significantly.

Overall, you will be responsible for Mechanical Engineering tasks within a broad range of both known - and yet unknown subsea applications. You will work on projects spanning from subsea infrastructure solutions over underwater towed vehicles and all the way to equipment used within highly specialised areas such as e.g. neutrino observatories. The common denominators are extreme environment, high specification materials and highly specialised customers.

Your area of responsibility also includes the following tasks:

  • Understanding customer needs and, together with our sales- and product management teams, assist in translating this to new products and customised solutions
  • Being a project member and, during project execution, working in close collaboration with our project team, under your project manager’s guidance
  • Having daily contact with our workshop technicians, ensuring that both theoretical and practical experience is utilised optimally
  • Providing the whole organisation with expert advice on technical matters within your field of competence

You are straightforward, open-minded and persistent. You have an intuitive technical understanding, lots of energy and drive – and you thrive on some days having a variety of tasks and on other days giving deep focus to a particular technical challenge.

Extreme conditions make Underwater Technology one of the most challenging and exciting engineering disciplines. Therefore, you are equipped with a bright head that can swiftly take in this very different world of engineering.

Last but not least, you have a positive mind, and you take pride in being a good colleague who is motivated by creating exciting solutions in co-operation with your team.

You have a background profile that includes:

  • Mechanical Engineering (B.Sc., M.Sc. or equivalent)
  • Minimum 5 years of engineering experience
  • 3D modelling (preferably Autodesk Inventor)
  • Analytical mechanical calculation
  • Finite Element Analysis
  • Hands-on and theoretical knowledge within metallic and plastic materials
  • English on a high technical level in writing and speech (preferably also Danish)
  • Working within a project organisation
