NEXUS

The NEXUS multiplexer family comprise the new standard NEXUS MK IV, which is an upgraded and improved version of the original MK I introduced 7 years ago and produced in a number of 30 systems. The NEXUS MK V is also a multiplexer we define as standard and keep on stock. It adds 3 video channels to the serial data channels and multi beam sonar interfaces - see the data sheets for details.

NEXUS MK III comes without subsea pressure vessel and is limited to transmission of 2 MB-sonar channels + optional Ethernet. Our NEXUS MK X is not a standard product but designed individually to meet customer requirements.

The NEXUS MK III multibeam transmission system, developed by MacArtney Underwater Technology transmits high speed digital sonar data from multibeam sonar heads installed on ROV or ROTV systems

The system transmits data from up to two multibeam heads on one or two single or multimode optical fibres

The low speed down link control data for the sonar head (EM300x and Reson81xx) is transmitted through the ROV system multiplexer.

The MacArtney NEXUS MK IV is a multi-beam sonar multiplexer that carries all signals over one single mode optical fibre via CWDM (Coarse Wavelength Division Mulitplexing).

The system encompasses MacArtney (P)ECL fibre optic converters, the Cypress multiplexer, MiniController and Ethernet converters.

The MacArtney NEXUS MK V multiplexer replaces the NEXUS 907 system. It is still based on the Focal 907 video/data multiplexer combined with the MacArtney MiniControllers,  ethernet converters and the Focal Gb-media converters. The new power switching of all the sensors and cameras is software controlled and combined with monitoring of sensor power status.

The MacArtney NEXUS MK C is a plug and play multiplexer for ROVs. This built to order multiplexer is intended to be the main multiplexer for a work class ROV or similar vehicle. It can be fitted to new ROVs or as an upgrade to existing systems.

The NEXUS MK E is designed as an electrical alternative to a fibre optic multiplexer. The MK E has been adapted to work with non-fibre optic cables and can be used to handle data on existing coax type side scan sonar and CTD cables as well as twisted pair cables.

The MK E is intended for use in applications where there is a need to perform online communication with a number of underwater sensors and/or live video transmission.
