In Depth

This issue of In Depth looks at the many new developments in recent months from single products like the 25 pin SubConn® connector to the launching of our LUXUS range of cameras and lights.

We have also designed a new articulating A-frame for launch and recovery.  In cooperation with ETI and Gisma we have developed a new 11kV wet mate connector, which has a promising future within the renewable energy...

Brazil - Local access to global support

Since starting up in a Denmark over 30 years ago, MacArtney’s increasing success has gone hand-in-hand with expansion across the globe. We have always felt that being geographically close to customers was part and parcel to offering excellent service. As customers became more global, so did MacArtney...

Supporting the underwater industry

With the pace of change ever quickening in the underwater industry, it is more important than ever to keep up to date with the latest developments. Product lines evolve and develop, and designs – new and established – need thorough testing.

Product lines, like the well-established SubConn® connector range, are constantly evolving to keep up with the needs of the market. In this issue, we look at applications for the unsung hero of the underwater world infrastructure

New solutions through new technology

I see activities in the underwater industry becoming increasingly reliant on advanced technology. Challenges at depth or in shallow, murky waters require advanced solutions.

While we provide complete systems for all depths, we also develop new technology for integration into bigger systems, as with the infrastructure package for Hydril’s new blow out preventers

How being close helps us all
Being close to our customers has been a primary aim of MacArtney since the company began.

This aim encompasses many ways of being close. We work hard to be physically near to our customers by opening new offices and workshops where we are needed, most recently in Brazil.

Our global network makes us accessible on a local level while benefitting from global company support

Listening and understanding

As oil and gas suppliers venture into deeper and deeper water to tap into new oil and gas reserves, they rely increasingly on their suppliers and partners for high technology and integrated systems to ensure reliability and economy.

Other industries too need advanced and reliable systems built with a thorough understanding of the particular challenges they face with underwater equipment

Supplying solutions
In the underwater technology industry, products are rarely bought alone off the shelf. More than likely they are part of a package of items that make up a system.

Underwater instruments need lowering into place on the sea bed or in the water; information from instruments needs to be sent, received and assimilated by multiplexers and computers; ROVs need launching into the water and recovering again and underwater cables and monitoring stations need testing and support

Looking forward
While some business sectors are experiencing the effects of a tentative market, the MacArtney Underwater Technology Group is faring the ebb and flow of the global economy well.

Our plans for the near future and the long term remain unchanged; we will continue to improve products and services for the oil & gas and ocean science markets, and develop still more in the sector of the future – renewable energy
